Install Day: What Happens and How to Prepare

A staged kitchen island with wood stools beside the dining table

On install day our crew delivers the furniture, places it room by room and styles every staged room in a single visit. Your part is simple: a clean, empty, powered home, a way in, and somewhere for the truck to park.

Before we arrive

  • The home is empty of the previous occupant's things, or cleared according to the occupied-staging plan.
  • Cleaning is finished, including floors and windows.
  • Power and water are on.
  • We have a lockbox code, a key or someone to open the door.
  • The HOA, if there is one, knows a delivery is coming.

During the install

The crew brings in the large pieces first: sofas, beds, tables, rugs. Then come lamps, art, bedding, greenery and accessories. Art is hung, beds are made, and each room is checked from the doorway, which is where the photographer will stand.

After we leave

The home is ready to photograph. Schedule the photographer for the same afternoon or the next morning.

While the home is on the market

  • Ask showing agents to leave things as they found them.
  • Keep lights working and blinds open.
  • If the home is occupied, put things back the way we styled them before each showing.

When it sells

Let us know the closing date. We schedule pickup around it and remove everything in one trip.

Questions

Do I need to be home on install day?

No. We only need access, such as a lockbox code, and for the home to be clean with the power on.

When is the furniture removed?

After the sale. Tell us the closing date and we schedule pickup around it.
